John Perthuis is a French photographer and filmmaker focusing mostly on the human figure in connection to nature, movement, arts and community.
He has created several short inspirational, and promotional, videos for musicians, creatives, and spiritual practitioners. His specialty and passion is also to document through photography the emphasis of human emotion and movement using natural light and nature as his tools and backdrop.

His journey in the field began after studying cinema in France, when he moved to Australia where he spent several years perfecting his art. If you ask him how he became a cinematographer he’ll barely mention school, and instead credit the many influential people that fuelled his lifelong enthusiasm for film.

In 2018, he created Krysalyd Films, his own production company which allows him to provide a complete offer to his clients. After moving to Bali, John used to live in a co-living in Tampaksiring, it allowed him to truly live by his values and passion; co-creating and sharing all forms of art.

Then in 2022, he created Ubud Prod and started a new chapter with a all new level of video production.

“For me taking photographs and filming with my camera is a way to connect with my subject in the most authentic and vulnerable way. It is such a paradigm shift experience that is powerful and beautiful. I see that as a transformative experience sometimes in a very humble way, I do believe that I have an eye to aesthetic and my intention is to recognize the essence and honor the beauty of the human nature.”
